Wire Rod

Wire rod refers to **hot rolled round steel or special-shaped steel with equivalent section** with a diameter of **5.5–30mm**. Since it is delivered in coil form, it is also commonly known as **coil rod** in the industry. As one of the most basic raw materials for metal processing, construction, wire drawing, nailing and fasteners, it is flexible to use, easy to transport and suitable for continuous processing.

According to different rolling equipment and technology, wire rod is mainly divided into two categories: **High Speed Wire Rod (HSWR)** and **Common Wire Rod**. High-speed wire rod is produced by high-speed rolling mill with higher dimensional accuracy, better surface quality and larger coil weight, suitable for high-quality wire drawing, cold heading and precision hardware processing. Common wire rod is produced by traditional mill with high cost performance, mostly used for construction, general wire drawing, nailing and other general applications.

Products are mainly made of low carbon steel, medium carbon steel and alloy steel, with different strength and elongation properties available for various downstream uses. Wire rod can be directly used for construction binding and welded mesh, or used as raw material for further processing into galvanized wire, black iron wire, nails, spring steel wire, welding wire and other finished products through drawing, annealing, galvanizing and other processes.

Application

Wire rod is mainly used as the reinforcement of reinforced concrete and welding structure or reprocessed raw material (such as drawing, nail, etc.).
